The rapid development of new electronic equipment and electric vehicles requires future rechargeable batteries to have high power, high energy density and fast charging performance. Among them, ion transport is an important link in the operation process of rechargeable batteries. The accurate regulation of ion transport behavior is helpful to achieve stable lithium metal batteries and fast rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, and accelerate the development and practical application of high-performance rechargeable batteries. In addition, the development and application of new electrode materials, such as lithium metal anode, are needed to obtain high energy density; To achieve fast charging performance, it is necessary to improve the chemical kinetics of the battery. The realization of high-performance lithium metal batteries and fast charging lithium-ion batteries need to solve the problems of lithium dendrite growth and lithium evolution in the negative electrode respectively. Part of these problems are caused by the uneven transmission of lithium ions in the battery system and the slow transmission speed. In the final analysis, they are related to the transmission mode of lithium ions. Therefore, it is one of the keys to solve the problems of dendrite growth of lithium metal anode and lithium evolution of anode in fast charging cell to regulate the transmission mode of lithium ion in battery system to achieve uniform and rapid transmission of lithium ion.
Therefore, this paper shows the important role of lithium ion transport in battery operation and its influence on lithium metal deposition and charge discharge kinetics, and reveals the relationship between lithium ion transport regulation and battery performance. At the same time, combined with the recent progress in the field of lithium metal batteries and fast charging lithium-ion batteries, the author summarized the methods of adjusting lithium ion transport, such as electrokinetic effect, lithium bond, electrode structure / electrode modification, development of new anode materials, electrolyte design and temperature effect, In order to achieve high-performance lithium metal battery and fast charging lithium-ion battery, how to control the transmission mode of lithium ion to solve the problems of lithium dendrite growth in lithium metal battery and lithium evolution in negative electrode of fast charging battery is further elaborated. At the same time, this paper puts forward the prospect of how to improve the battery performance by regulating the lithium ion transport in the future, and puts forward the methods of regulating the lithium ion transport for each component of the battery, which provides the direction for future research and further deepens the understanding of the lithium ion transport behavior in the battery system.
